MOAM Project - Marc de Groot

Tosca, 2012 © Marc de Groot

'What attracted me to this iconic image is the pureness of the person pictured and the combination between that person and the surrounding elements. In our image, we sought for that similar tension.' - Marc de Groot

Marc de Groot
Together with fashion designer Yvonne Kwok, Marc de Groot created Tosca, 2012, based on a photograph by duo Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin 'Kate / Bride' was the inspiration for his image, which is on display at &Foam, Vijzelstraat 78, until 17 March 2013.

Marc de Groot's fashion and portrait photography seeks to capture the spontaneous vitality in people. For more than 20 years, his images have helped define major Dutch fashion magazines including Elle, Linda, L'Homo and Glamour. De Groot's portraits of leading figures in entertainment explore the relationship between fashion and personality.

He lives with his wife, son and daughter in Amsterdam.
